Connect your assistant
Daicho keeps your books. You talk to your own AI assistant, and it reads and writes your ledger here. This takes about five minutes.
Before you start
- You need an invitation. Use the same email address the invitation was sent to.
- You need an assistant that can add a custom connector (also called a remote MCP server). Claude and ChatGPT can; steps for both are below.
- A computer is easiest for the first setup. After that your phone works too.
Your connection address
You will paste this into your assistant.
https://my.daicho.app/mcp
Claude
- Open claude.ai in a browser and sign in. (Team and company plans: an owner of your workspace may need to allow custom connectors first.)
- Go to Settings, then Connectors. You can also use the + menu next to the message box and choose Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name: Daicho. URL: the address above. Leave Advanced settings empty.
- Click Add, then Connect. A Daicho sign-in page opens.
- Type your email. We send you a one-time code. Type the code. There is no password.
- On the approval page, check that the assistant named there is the one you are connecting and that no warning is shown. Click Approve.
- Start a new chat and ask: "Use Daicho to show who I am and whether I have a ledger."
A connector added on the web is also available in the Claude phone app.
ChatGPT and other assistants
We have tested the sign-in with Claude. Other assistants should work if they support remote MCP servers with sign-in (OAuth), but we have not tested them yet, and menu names change between versions. Tell us what you see.
- ChatGPT (paid plans; on a company plan an admin may need to allow connectors): in Settings, find the connectors or apps section and turn on Developer mode, then choose Create to add a new connector.
- Name: Daicho. Server or connector URL: the address above. Authentication: OAuth.
- Create it, then connect when asked. The same sign-in page opens: your email, the one-time code, then Approve.
- Any other assistant: look for "add a custom MCP server" or "remote connector", use the address above, and choose OAuth if asked.
- The approval page shows a warning if your assistant is not one we recognise. That is expected for a new assistant; approve only if you started the connection yourself.
Your first conversation
Ask your assistant, in plain words:
- "Create my ledger. My main currency is ..." (pick your own currency; it cannot change once you have entries)
- "I have 1,200 in my bank account today. Set up the account and the opening balance."
- "I paid 18.50 for lunch yesterday from my card."
- "What do I have and what do I owe?"
Your assistant should tell you in plain words what it is about to record and wait for your yes. If it does not, say "ask me first".
Good to know (private beta)
- It records, it never moves money. Daicho does not connect to your bank or pay anyone.
- Mistakes are reversed, not edited. The books are append-only; ask your assistant to reverse an entry.
- Not backed up automatically yet. Ask your assistant to export your ledger now and then. The export is a copy for safekeeping; there is no restore tool yet.
- Software, not advice. This is not financial, tax or legal advice.
- Your data, your choice. You can ask your assistant to delete your whole ledger. It shows what will go, makes you take an export first, and asks you to type the ledger name. Your sign-in login is removed by email request to info@wisertrack.com.
- Never type a bank password or card number into a chat. Daicho does not need them.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to try |
|---|---|
| No code arrives | Check spam. Check you used the invited email address. Wait a minute and ask for a new code. |
| The code is refused | Codes expire and work once. Ask for a new one. |
| "This page is no longer valid" | The sign-in took too long. Remove the connector and add it again. |
| "Too many requests" | Wait a minute and try again. |
| Your assistant does not see the tools | Start a new chat. If it still does not, remove the connector and add it again. |
To disconnect: remove the connector in your assistant's settings. That stops access; your ledger stays until you delete it. Questions: info@wisertrack.com.
